Treaty mechanism for resolving cross-border tax disputes between competent authorities.

Definition
MAP allows taxpayers facing double taxation or treaty-interpretation issues to request that the competent authorities of the two treaty countries resolve the matter. Modern treaties (and the MLI) include mandatory arbitration as a backstop.
