Definition
The no tax due threshold is a Texas franchise-tax concept that changes the liability answer but not always the filing answer. Founders often hear 'no tax due' and stop there, even though Texas can still require the annual information-report side of the filing package.
Examples
- An entity below the threshold may still need to file a Public Information Report or Ownership Information Report.
- Using an outdated threshold can produce the wrong answer about whether tax is due for the report year.
